Preventing Cavities

The two best defenses against tooth decay and gum disease are a healthy, well-balanced diet and good oral hygiene, including daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste, flossing and rinsing. Your body’s own saliva is also an excellent cavity fighter, because it contains special chemicals that rinse away many harmful materials.
If you have any of the following symptoms, you may have a cavity:
• Unusual sensitivity to hot and cold water or foods.
• A localized pain in your tooth or near the gum line.
• Teeth that change color.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are the clear alternative to metal braces for adults, kids, and teens. It can quickly and completely addresses the imperfections of your smile. With Invisalign, it is possible to completely correct poor alignment, gaps, and overlapping in a way that is discreet and subtle. Invisalign can correct a variety of bite problems:

Overcrowding – When there’s insufficient space for teeth to properly grow. This increases the chances of tooth decay and gum disease.

Tooth gaps – This can happen as a result missing teeth or growth abnormalities from the jaw, leading to gum problems.

Crossbite – When your upper and lower jaws are not aligned, causing your upper teeth to bite on your lower teeth’s interior. This increases tooth wear, bone erosion and gum disease.

Openbite – When some teeth fail to make contact with one another, making chewing and speaking difficult.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Announcement from Fresno Smile Makeovers:

In light of the evolving pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, our office will be closed until Monday, April 13. We believe that this closure will allow us to more effectively evaluate this dynamic situation and assist in following the CDC’s guidance on social separation. If you have an appointment with us during this time, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment.

As always, we will be available for emergency care if it were to arise during this time. There will be a dentist on call in the event of a dental emergency. Should you require this emergency care, please call our office as you normally would by phone or text as messages will be checked at 8:00 AM each day that our office is closed. If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency or you can not wait until the next business day, please refer to your nearest emergency room, or urgent care facility.

A dental emergency includes: teeth that have been knocked out (evulsed), forced out of position (extruded), or broken (fractured), injuries to soft tissue of mouth, swelling, or infection.

We did not make this decision lightly. A great deal of care, research and planning guided our decision. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours. Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team and our community in mind. Please refer to our website for the most up to date information: https://fresnosmilemakeovers.com

During this time of uncertainty, we want to express our concerns about your wellbeing and that of your families and friends. Thank you for being a valued patient.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sam Namdarian and Staff
